PRIVAT TAKE PART IN FIXBOX SPACE PROGRAM DEVELOPED IN THE ISS

Mecanitzats PRIVAT has participated in the manufacture of the machined components of the FIXBOX project for our customer SENER.

SENER was selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) for the complete development of equipment for the experiment in plant biology within the International Space Station (ISS).

On June 3, FIXBOX equipment was successfully launched as part of the SPACEX-11 mission from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral (USA). The launch boarded on the space vehicle Space X Dragon, the biology experiment for which the company has developed fixation equipment (FIXBOX) has been launched to the International Space Station (ISS). This is the third experiment Seeding Growth -3, the last in a series started in 2013.

This purpose of this project, awarded to SENER by the European Space Agency (ESA) and has been developed in collaboration with the US space agency (NASA), is to conduct research on the growth of Arabidopsis Thaliana seeds and to study the effects of microgravity and light on their development. This project is the result of an international scientific collaboration led by Professor Javier Medina from the Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas (CIB-CSIC).
